This August, the Ode to the Black Fiddler Music Festival, showcasing the artistry and versatility of professional string musicians of color, will begin its three-year residency at The Bronx Brewery in Bronx, New York.

Established in 2016, the Festival has traveled to various local venues throughout the Bronx and Harlem, including BronxArtSpace (2017), Gavin Brown’s Enterprise (2018), WhiteBox Harlem (2019), El Barrio ArtSpace P.S. 109 (2020) and The Bronx Brewery in 2021.

“OBF Music Festival is all about bringing concert hall performances to local communities, particularity within uptown neighborhoods in New York City”, states Iymaani Abdul-Hamid, professional violist and Founder of IAH Studio and the Festival.

For many string musicians and other creatives in New York City, the Ode to the Black Fiddler Music Festival has become a supportive and artistic home, and widely anticipated event each year.
In 2022, attendees can expect a full-day experience of food & beverages offered by The Bronx Brewery and Empanology, as well as DJ sets, local vendors, interactive stations and much more.
